Spring Hill Trout Waters are scenically located in a valley in Brenchley Wood near Matfield in Kent. The fishery consists of three clear spring fed waters which are stocked with top quality rainbow and brown trout.
The abundance of insects provide for superb fishing, especially in the evenings when hatches are frequent and dry fly fishing will often produce great results. Hatches include: Midge, Caddis, Sedge, Mayfly, Damsels and most other insects found in Southern England.
The main lake is stocked with both rainbow and brown trout. The Spring and Brown Ponds are exclusively brown trout.
Facilities include a lodge, toilet, sale of terminal tackle and rod hire. Tea and coffee is available as well as other refreshments to purchase.
Tuition is also available onsite at a basic level from Lee Green or qualified instruction from one of our resident fly fishing instructors. See links
Spring Hill Trout Waters is open from 8am til dark every day, all year round
Springhill is closed on Xmas Day, Boxing Day, 27th December, New Years Day

Spring Hill was created by Alan Manwarring in the early 80's and has been owned and managed by Lee Green and his partner Jane since 2001.
Lee has been fishing since his childhood and has high standards when it comes to the management of the fishery.
Lee has a vast knowledge of the countryside and takes pride in keeping Spring Hill well maintained and natural at the same time, nurturing many native plants and trees. This in turn results in an abundance of insects and wildlife.
Whilst on your visit to Spring Hill you may well see Kingfisher, Woodpecker, Sparrowhawk, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Reed Bunting, Reed Warbler, Nuthatch, Heron, Little Grebe, Swallow, Swift, Housemartin and Siskin. We also see Common Buzzards here regularly and Little Egrets have been seen here winter 2010/11. In addition to the large variety of birds, you could also see Grass Snake, Common Lizard and Newts.
Spring Hill is fed by various springs which in turn feed Tudely Brook and then the Medway. The Lodge overlooks the tranquil setting of the Medway valley with fantastic views, on a good day as far as Bluebell hill to the north, beyond Maidstone.
Spring Hill prides itself on being a friendly place with a relaxed atmosphere where people can come for a cuppa and a chat.

From the A228, from the hop farm, take the turning towards Paddock Wood, up the B2160, past Paddock Wood towards Matfield. As you pass the sign for Matfield, turn right into Chestnut Lane by The Poet. After 300 yards turn left into Foxhole lane, follow the lane down into the valley and up out of the valley, on the brow of the hill turn right where there is a sign for Albans Farm and a small wooden sign, Spring Hill Trout Waters.
